History of the Doodle Train

The Doodle train was used for transport between Pickens and Easley beginning around 1898. It would go back and forth between the two towns with no ability to turn around, like a doodlebug, hence the name. The Doodle Trail now uses the same rail line and winds throughout the countryside with paved paths and split rail fencing.  Now the Doodle Trail in Easley and Pickens and the connection to Downtown Easley is a wonderful outing for the entire family to explore!
